This year, 2015, February 26th. Will be my 2 year anniversary as a shop owner on etsy.
I am so very glad I took the plunge. As of today I have 338 sales. When I first started I just couldnt see how I was going to get past that first 6 sales, let alone 20 sales, 100 sales. If you are an artist and want to show and sell your work to a worldwide market I encourage you to try etsy. It can all be done at your own pace. Obviously with anything the more you work at something the more successful it will be. I am yet to discover the magic product that people go crazy about. I do however enjoy the slow steady build of meeting new customers and packing and mailing out my art to all around the world. I plan to update this blog more, with new things I am working on. Looking forward to a dazzling 2015! ( Canada trip on the menu again, twice was not enough )

Life sure hasn't worked out how I planned this month. I know, it never goes the way we think. Have been busy on etsy. Not as in sales, but learning, Treasury making, exploring.
Highlight of my week has been finally getting out my packet of Sculpey Clay. And these little guys are what happened - Baby animals in blankets! Owlie came first, then platypus then koala... I have now made 15! Just have to line up someone's oven, and cook these little guys. Finish with acrylic paint and varnish, then make a little nest box for each one. It felt good to be sculpting again, and Sculpey is so much cleaner to work with than ceramic clay. A couple of these guys were made while I was snuggled up on the lounge...oh, I love Autumn.. :) Raechel Just got back my first batch of professionally printed postcards and business cards the other day. Just a little excited. So here's a sneak peek at them... postcards first...The rest you can wait for ;) and business cards...Just gotta package and photograph the postcards and they'll be up on etsy for sale and in our Gallery in Tinonee.
I love the quality of the print. The colours are clarity is very close to the originals. It's so wonderful to see my drawings/paintings look so professionally presented...and multiples!!!!! I hope people to embrace this style of art. It's a bit different from my cultural art. But still a part of me. Nite, I think someone is waiting for me... :) Raechel Hey :) 2013 looks like its shaping up to be a year of 'NEW STUFF' 1. I am writing a blog!! crazy! SO I dont know if anyone will ever read this :D ... YOU might be the only person ever.. how exciting! But I jest.. *Being a hermitty Artist, I think it's time to share with the world some of my brain workings.. 'Let you see the world behind my eyes'.. so to speak. Oooo thinking of Jon Foreman the singer now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSig0jnMpAg 2. I finally took the plunge and opened my etsy store 26th February 2013. It has been a busy 5 weeks since then. So much to learn, alot of Forum searching, photography, late nights and pulling my long hair out dealing with Auspost prices! (my niece is wrong, I really don't know everything!) Thankfully on the Art-making front, I was all ready to go. Am thankful I took the time about a year ago to start creating 'stock'. Very excited to get my new style of gecko's out into the world!! 3. Planning a trip to Canada... what? :)
Ok, more of this blogging business another day. :) Raechel |
